I like both although sometimes miss sonny. Matt is also good to remember that the singer and was the first vocalist

Why do people never shut up about Sonny? He's gone and isn't coming back so people should just stop whining about him. Yeah, Sonny was a good frontman but he left. And now Matt's the frontman and he's brilliant.
Yeah, who does wanna grow up? Definitely not FFTL, they're still the same people and haven't changed, their music still really isn't very grown up at all.
They write amazing songs, just like they've always done... Matt really is amazing.
I really am sick of people talking about Sonny. He left years ago, why can't you just accept that he's gone?

i like what fftl puts out and i agree if i bought albums from a band and they all sounded the same i wouldnt really listen to them. my fav album is the newest one. then asthetic deardiary and heroine. you can ask them to do more screamo and be more like how they were before but in the end its all fall down to WHAT THE BAND WANTS TO DO if they want to make certain types of songs they can. yes bands apperciate fan input but they cant please everyone. you have to make and do what makes you happy even if it doesnt please others cause you live this life for no one else but yourself (there are exceptions like family and crap but in the end i know i would like to live my life knowing im hapy doing what i want dont let anyone get in your way) and if your not happy odds are no one is.

But I didn't mean they would make a copy of the old records, it's just if the new albums were basically done with the same kind of sound in mind, then who cares?

From First To Last would be boring if they kept dishing out more albums that sounded like Dear Diary. Not that Dear Diary was boring or anything, but there'd be no reason to buy any new cd's. You know what you're getting.

At first Heroine turned me off too, because I wasn't expecting it, but then I went into it not as a new From First To Last record but as just a new record in general.

Heroine in my opinion is the only album they have out now that has a unique sound. Like distinctive, where you don't even hear the vocals but you instantly know who did it and what album it was.

With the new record though, I listen to it and I feel like I've heard all of it already, and it's predictable.

Anywho albums aside,,

If bands went on "variance" where they just keep mixing up the same old stuff they've been doing (which most bands do), then they get repetetive, and boring.

In fact speaking of being in bands and talking about this subject, I joined the 2nd band I was in because I was sick of the music the 1st band was playing. I couldn't handle the boring ass "variance"

to the guy who said : "then there'd just be two of the same ******* record. if you like the old record, listen to the old god damn record."

there's a thing called variance.
join a band or start one, you'll see what i'm talking about.
contrary to what you think you know, it is entirely possible to write in the same style they did during Aesthetic, or Dear Diary and still not be the same record.

yes. i miss Dear Diary most. The warped tour days, Dead by Dawn I... I miss the hell out of it. Heroine completely turned me off just because of the difference. It was very well composed, just not the thing for me.
this new album, really not for me. i suppose i haven't given it much of a chance, but it feels like it's really calm and toned down.

i wish sonny would buck up and decide that FFTL has way more to offer than the stupid techno he's doing now. He could wail, and he should do it again.
(but first figure out a way to do it without hurting himself)

it is entirely possible for these boys to bring back the style of Aesthetic or Dear Diary, but it's also completely up to them and unfortunately there is a maturing of a musician. i wish it would happen, but it's THEIR music, we have to respect that.

Yeah the old from first to last was way better.
And if I had to pick my favorite album it would have to be heroine, then aesthtic, then dear diary, then from first to last

i think than aesthetic was the best cd the new cd its complety diferent
and I personally do not like the album I think it does not compare"the other slide" with songs like "for the taking" or "when flying feels like falling" the old stuff was definitely better

Aesthetic, Dear Diary and heroine, i think, were better because it was heavier and louder and more angry.. But i suppose their new stuff is growing on me too.

of course we all like the old from first to last albums, some more than others, and they are what drew us to the band.

but that's just it, it's old from first to last. they recorded albums and there's videos of live performances. it's not like it will go away.

i'm so glad that the overall sound changes with this band with every album they release, because that means it'll be interesting and i won't know what i'm getting into. if they just sounded the same all the time it'd be SOOOO ******* BORING.

I love the first record, and I REALLY love Heroine. I thought the new record was good although I hope next time they come up with a little more inspired lyrics than what this past one had. But it was still rocking ass ****, and a whole lot better than the group disbanding just because a member left.

If you liked the band only for Sonny, go listen to Sonny. If you liked the old records, listen to them. Hell if you go see them live TODAY they'll play half their set full of stuff from the old records.

Jesus, I hate to act like I'm defending the band which doesn't even need defended but I don't want them to have to go on their own website and read nothing but "I LIKE THE OLD RECORD, MAKE SONNY JOIN BACK INTO THE BAND."
